The pro-Russian “Patriotic Bloc” called at the meeting not to recognize the voting results.
After a three-hour hearing, the judges went into a deliberation room and then announced the approval of the results. This decision is final and cannot be appealed.
As a reminder, according to the election results, President Maia Sandu’s Action and Solidarity (PAS) party received 55 mandates, the Patriotic Bloc formed around former Prime Minister Igor Dodon received 26, the Alternative Bloc received 8, and Renato Usati’s Our Party and the Democracy at Home party received 6 mandates each.
According to the law, within 30 days after that, the president must convene parliament for a constituent session.
Recall that the previous Prime Minister Dorin Recan refused the offer to head the government again and plans to also give up his parliamentary mandate.
“Action and Solidarity” plans to nominate businessman Oleksandra Muntyana, who has been living in Ukraine for the past 20 years, as a candidate for prime minister.
